You know the drill by now. King Fantastic: a concise study in Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic-as interpreted by Killer Reese One and Troublemaker. And now that Killer Reese One is back from his “state sponsored vacation,” they’re back for the follow up to their 2010 album, Finger Snaps and Gun Claps. If you like Run The Jewels, you’ll thank us later for introducing you to the two guys who been doing that kind of Hip-Hop. DJ/producer Troublemaker sticks to his warped out, sun burned production that never forgets to punch you in the throat to wake you up while Killer Reese One sticks to what he knows best–women, alcohol, parties, and weed aka straight West Coastin’. Since “Bonfire Sessions,” it’s been clear that KRO is one to stay at home and enjoy some alone time but after you hear this album, you’ll want to crash his place and kick it with him. I just hope they manage to get the two of them out of the house and to the East Coast for a tour.

For those in Los Angeles, the duo will be performing for free this Sunday at 7pm at the Bootleg Hifi (2220 Beverly Blvd., La, CA 90057). You can buy your copy of the album on iTunes or Bandcamp, below. You can also stream in on Spotify. Or you can buy a limited edition (50 of ‘em) long sleeved shirt which includes a copy of the album.

Bryan Hahn is finally glad that there’s an album that fits his theory on life. He’s on Twitter (@notupstate).
