Ghostface rhyming over plunky guitars is now a reality
The list of Unlikeliest Hip-Hop Collaborations was a short one this year with just three entries: Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Childish Gambino and Jaden Smith, and now Ghostface Killah and BADBADNOTGOOD.
The Wu-Tang rapper and the Canadian jazz-hop trio put out the single “Six Degrees,” featuring Detroit MC Danny Brown, earlier this year, and the seamless teaming of Ghostface’s hard-hitting rhymes with BADBAD’s live instrumentation have coaxed the group to put out a full album’s worth of work.

Set for release on February 17th, 2015, the project, entitled Sour Soul will feature the aforementioned “Six Degrees” along with the new joint they premiered today, “Gunshowers,” featuring Elzhi. The plunky guitar and drum-laced instrumental elicits the feel of old Bobby Digital but still falls in line with the group’s forward thinking vibe, while Ghost and Elzhi weave their way through the musical haze with hot fire.
BADBADNOTGOOD’s last project III is on iTunes now. Check out “Gunshowers” below.
