Michael Jordan is arguably one of the most influential sports figures ever. Recently added to his roster of talented professional basketball players that wear his gear is 3X All-Star power-forward/center, LaMarcus Aldridge.
According to Larry Miller, President of Jordan Brand, “We are thrilled to add LaMarcus to the Jordan Brand family,” adding that “LaMarcus’s pure athleticism and tenacity makes him a perfect fit with Jordan Brand and we are looking forward to being a part of his continued legacy.”
Entering his ninth year in the NBA after being drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2006 as the second overall pick, Aldrige was immediately shipped to Portland, where he would begin a lengthy career with the Trailblazers, battling the loss of both Greg Oden and former All-Star Brandon Roy to repeated knee injuries. However, playoff hopes returned with the addition of Dame Lillard, not to mention Aldridge’s increased effort and ever-improving skill. Last season, he averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds per game.
“I have always been a huge fan of Jordan Brand and am so excited to represent them on the court this season,” said Aldridge regarding the news. “The legacy behind these products is unlike anything else in the sports world, and it’s a great honor to be on the roster with some of the best players in the game.”
