Don’t mess with this ladies’ balls.
So picture this: you’re hanging out with your roommate, drinking a few brews and enjoying the evening. Then she brings up that plate of spaghetti and meatballs she had leftover in the fridge, in which you respond saying you threw it away. No biggie, right?
Wrong. Spaghetti and meatballs can apparently get you set on fire.
According to local Florida news station Bay News 9, 33-year-old Melissa Dawn Sellers of Clearwater, FL did just that when she learned that 42-year-old Carlos Ortiz Jr. threw out her leftover food. The two got into a heated argument around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at their home on the 300 block of Gunn Avenue, and Sellers proceeded to do the unthinkable- she began dousing Ortiz with nail polish remover and set him ablaze.
“She was setting little objects on fire, then that turned into pouring nail polish remover all over him, and then all of a sudden, the lighter sparked and he lit on fire,” said Ines Causevic, friend and witness of Ortiz. “When he got up, his face was like melting off, it was pink and sore. His lips were burning.”
Causevic attempted to help Ortiz by throwing water on him, and though she may have helped to save his life he is currently being treated at Tampa General Hospital for his burns. Listed under critical condition, Ortiz suffered burns to his face, chest and shoulders.
After the altercation it is reported that Sellers left the scene of the crime but later returned after retreating to her stepfather’s home. Sellers has since been arrested and charged with aggravated battery, though earlier reports state she has been charged with attempted murder.
Makes sense. And of course this is not her first run in with the law, as Sellers has been arrested several other times for robbery and battery.
And to think you know a person. Let this be a lesson to all of you: don’t touch other people’s property no matter how big or small, because it may turn out to be the last time.
