Republic Records artist SoMo brought his Wide Awake tour to New York City performing at Irving Plaza.

The show opened with Atlantic Records artist Francesco Yates. He performed  his new single “When I Found You.” Yates has a laid back vibe. His presence on stage is so mellow and peaceful. Every high note and riff captivated the audience more and more. He closed his set with his hit single “Call” and had the whole crowd rocking.

After that set, the audience was ready for SoMo. The chanting began as it got closer to show time. The lights dimmed and the intro music started to play, you heard his beautiful singing from backstage. He emerged on stage in all black, as he turned around to face to audience the screams and shrieks began. He opened with his song “Blind.” The Texas native wooed the crowd with his southern hospitality. Many fans first discovered SoMo through his Drake covers. He then performed a mashup of all the songs.

As the show progressed, he noticed a fan who had been to all of his shows in New York. SoMo then brought her up on stage and serenaded her with the song “Bad” by Wale. Wish that was me! The show kept getting hotter and hotter with his grinding and strip tease. He went on to sing his popular songs “Show Off,” “We Can Make Love” and “Fire.” Then it happened, the moment we we’re all waiting for … his shirt came off! The girls went wild. He closed the show with his hit single “Ride.” The grinding increased and the screams got louder. Everyone needs to see him in concert.
