“Hey yo, it’s love for Detroit, Mo-Town, Motor City/
Dilla lives on, it’s like he’s rollin’ with me/
The soulful sample complements my rhyme so well”

During the release party for Killer Mike and El-P‘s highly anticipated album, under the moniker Run The Jewels, titled RTJ2, the duo — along with the crowd — was in for quite a treat.

The event was hosted in Brooklyn at Nitehawk Cinemas. In addition to the listening session, fans in attendance also watched a screening of The Warriors, followed by a Q&A with the rappers.

Somewhere along the way — as if the event wasn’t on fleek as is — Nas, himself, came through and dropped a jewel of his own. Along the Dilla-produced track, “Gobstopper,” Esco previewed “The Season.”
