“For me, I know all of us shouldn’t take this moment for granted. This is probably one of the biggest sporting events that is up there ever.”
Tonight’s the night! Hailing from Akron, Ohio, 4x NBA MVP, 2x NBA Champ, and 2x Finals MVP, LeBron James is having his second coming as a Cleveland Cavalier against the New York Knicks, where he’ll be meeting fellow 2003 NBA draft classmate Carmelo Anthony in his team’s season home opener.
“It is not the beginning,”James said via ESPN.com. “It is the third [chapter] for myself. It is far from the beginning.”
Not only is this LeBron’s return as a Cleveland Cavalier, but also Kevin Love‘s first time donning Cleveland across his chest. ”It’s going to be electric in here, but I hope more than anything we just want to get a win at the end of the day,” said Love.
This move for King James was basically for the city, according to Joe Haden of the Cleveland Browns.
Nonetheless, the entire city — if not state — is excited for the 2014-2015 season to kick off. Fans inside of Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland will have the opportunity to join LBJ as he also brings back his trademark pre game chalk toss.
