Philly rap group Major Figgas has been seeing a resurgence of sorts lately, starting with member Ab-Liva adding a memorable verse to Pusha T’s critically acclaimed My Name Is My Name album, followed by member Spade-O returning from a lengthy prison sentence to drop a bundle of dope bars on Meek Mill’s “Pound Cake Freestyle”. Perhaps the most notable of the Figgas, Gillie Da Kid, completes the October trifecta with his take on A$AP Ferg’s summer smash “Shabba”. Gillie makes buzzing Trenton, NJ emcee Big Ooh! his accomplice in this beatjacking, as the two rappers trade bars about the realities of their urban environments over the uptempo instrumental.
