Joe Budden is NOT dropping an album. He’s dropping an EP, man!

Get it straight.

His Some Love Lost EP drops today and the Love & Hip Hop New York star does NOT want you perplexed. “EP—not an album,” Budden told The Source.

“I don’t want to confuse the listener.”

His seven track, 40 minute EP is the second installment of the Love Lost series and features personal reflection, disappointment, hurt and other events that have affected him positively or negatively since the last time the Slaughterhouse MC addressed you via No Love Lost.

“Mentally, physically and spiritually are very different from the last time they heard me two years ago,” said Budden.

According to Budden, the Some Love Lost EP is something that his fans will enjoy because he focused more on delivery and cadence than he normally does. The inner-perfectionist mindset was genuinely reflected on tracks like Only Human and The Way You Love Me.

“I want to give the fans a more current body of work pertaining to where I am,” he said.

So is there growth reflected in the EP?

“If we’re being 100% honest—I’m not certain that it’s going to showcase growth,” he said. “Rappers get to the point where they fall off. Maybe I fell off and I didn’t know it yet, but that’s for the fans to decide.”

So what should you loyal Joey listeners expect from him in the Some Love Lost EP? “All I can do is put my best foot forward,” said Budden.

“And make the best body of work that I possibly could and that’s what I did when I went in.”
