Beauty is only skin deep

In the upcoming movie, Skinned it tackles the complex of colorism that is affecting the African American community. The movie is seen through the eyes of a young woman named Jolie (who is played by newcomer Jasmine Burke), who has struggled throughout her life with her skin color and finds a solution with bleaching cream. But how far will she go to be perfect in her skin?

Actress Lisa Raye McCoy plays her mother in the movie. This is McCoy directorial debut alongside her assistant director Avery O Williams. The movie is set to be release within 2015. This is one film that will teach society that we should love ourselves no matter what.
