Through a stunning multimedia display Forevermark diamonds celebrated real love stories in their Hold My Hand Forever (#holdmyhandforever) exhibit at the Highline Stages. Featured were a cadre of dance partners turned lovers turned “hold my hand forever” partners from four different styles and ages of dance.
Rokafella and Kwikstep first danced together on the streets in the early ‘90’s collecting just enough to pay rent. They are full of love for each other and had fun with everyone at the party.
Originally dance partners at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd created a video of what it means to them to hold hands forever. They shared that the most important time to hold hands is when it’s the hardest.
Robert Fairchild and Tiler Peck first met at 15 and 13 respectively while taking summer class at the New York City Ballet. They both went on to become principals there. Holding hands is central to their relationship—so much so, that they chose to have a reading about hand holding at their wedding.
From postmodern dance, choreographer/dancer David Gordon and dancer Valda Setterfield shared their love story. They began as unlikely partners, she too tall and he too bad at lifting. Valda wore shiny silver shoes and glowed at the party.
The DJ played favorites from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s everything from the Monkees to Dolly Parton. Guests mingled and tried on some mega bling as provided by Forever Mark. There was a display of precious stones for viewing only.
Among those bedazzling themselves were models: Kelly Bensimon, Coco Rocho, Diandra Forest, Teresa Moore, and Shaun Ross.
Singer Kevin Jonas and wife, Danielle joined the fun. So did Newlyweds Entertainment Reporter Chloe Melas and Brian Mazza, Actress Montego Glover, Designer Samantha Black, Model Cristen Barker and Photographer Nigel Barker, Actress Kiera Chaplin, Rock climber Sasha DiGiulian, and Actress Louisa Krause.
