Saved by the good book
By now you’ve probably heard about the tragic events that took place early Thursday morning , when a gunman opened fire on the campus of Florida State University, injuring three innocnet bystanders. Campus Police promptly responded to the situation, ordering the shooter -who has now been identified as 2005 FSU graduate Myron Desean May- to drop his gun; when he didn’t they shot and killed the 31 year old.
The three victims were taken to Tallahassee memorial hospital , one is listed in critical condition, the other in stable condition, the third victim received a graze wound, police said.
Later this afternoon and incredible story surface via FSU student Jason Derfuss’s Facebook page.
According to Derfuss; he was walking out of the library when he heard what he knew was a gunshot. He turned to see the gunman firing at other students. At this point he ran and escaped to the safety of his car. It wasn’t until he returned home and went through the contents of his book bag that he an his roomate realized what had happened. The books that Derfuss had checked out from the library minutes before had apparently stopped the bullet that was fired directly at him from hitting him. As you can see he did not take the incident lightly and felt truly blessed to be the beneficiary of what was a truly a miraculous event.
