Say Hello to the new face of the Sonic food chain
The reigning MVP is on an absolute roll. With, Kind Bars, Sparkle Water and Nike backing the 6’9 sharpshooter with endorsements, the food chain Sonic can now throw their name in the hat. Interesting enough, with the signing of Kevin Durant, this will now make the chain’s first endorsement deal.
According to Sonic Drive-In CMO Todd Smith:
“What really happened was the MVP speech that he made last year really pushed him into a national presence more, but also, his likability is off the charts,” Smith said. “For us, we wanted someone who has a hometown feel with a national presence because that’s the type of brand we are.”
As part of the endorsement deal, Kevin Durant will star in television ads such as Sonic’s famous “Two Guys” campaign which has made the brand a nationwide entity. He will also be included in digital, social, merchandising and packaging promotions for the company. Kevin Durant cant seem to miss from downtown as far as endorsements are concerned, now lets see if he can keep the balling rolling.
Drew never been to Sonic, but hopes Kevin Durant can figure out ways to put more chains closer to the DC metropolitan area. If your a foodie or an OKC fan and want to talk sports hit Drew on twitter. -@Drewtheabstract
