End Of Update
After leaving the team yesterday to attend to a very serious family matter in South Dakota we learn that Adrian Peterson’s son is in critical condition. Joseph Patterson (27), the man who was caring for the boy at the time has since been charged and arrested.
Patterson is being held on two felony counts of aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated assault domestic; bail was set at $750,000
It was on Wednesday that EMS was called to the Sioux Falls, South Dakota home where the child was found unresponsive. The injuries to the boy were consistent to abuse. Why the boy was in Patterson’s care was because Patterson was dating the mother of Adrian Peterson’s child.
Peterson spoke to the press today thanking everyone for their support while also wishing for everyone to respect his privacy.
The Minnesota Vikings take on the Carolina Panthers this weekend and Peterson has every intention to play. During his press conference today Peterson said that playing helps him cope along with this statement;
“You know, football is something I will always fall back on. It gets me through tough times. Just being around the guys in here, that’s what I need in my life, guys supporting me and just being able to go out and play this game I love. Things that I go through, I’ve said a thousand times, it helps me play this game to a different level. I’m able to kind of release a lot of my stress through this sport, so that’s what I plan on doing.”
This definitely goes without saying but how someone could do this to a defenseless 2-year old infant is simply unfathomable.
