Apocalypse is coming.

Oscar Isaac will play the nominal villain in the upcoming Bryan Singer directed, X-Men: Apocalypse film. The X-Men: Days of Future Past sequel will take place in the 1980′s, a decade after the events of the Days of Future past, and will revolve around the X-Men’s most formidable nemesis the immortal, “Apocalypse”. This news follows reports last month which speculating that Tom Hardy was being “courted” for the role.

Isaac who was also casted for the upcoming seventh installment of the Star Wars series, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will join series veterans Michael Fassbender (as Magneto), James McAvoy (as Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (as Mystique) and assumably High Jackman (as Wolverine).

The film is set to being production in the beginning of next year, with a tentative May 27, 2016 release date.
