As pressure mounts from more and more alleged acts sexual assault perpetrated by Cosby, he has cut ties with former business associates

Now that at least 20 women have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault spanning over 3 decades, Bill Cosby on Monday handed in his resignation from Temple University’s board of trustees, which he has held a seat with for over 32 years.

In a statement released by the university, Cosby said, “I have always been proud of my association with Temple University. I have always wanted to do what would be in the best interests of the university and its students. As a result, I have tendered my resignation from the Temple University Board of Trustees.”

Discussions at the highest level of the university over the past couple weeks led to this decision, though most of the members spoke out in defense of Cosby, a graduate of the school. Temple has thanked him for his service, but accepted his resignation.

The decision follows the steps of those taken by several other universities already, including the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, which have cut ties with Cosby in recent days, as more women go on the record about the alleged criminal acts.
