newscaster Don Lemon has been in the hot seat since the marijuana statement he made while reporting on the Ferguson, Missouri protests
While reporting on the protests that have been going on since it was announced the grand jury won’t indict police officer Darren Wilson who shot and killed unarmed teen Michael Brown, Lemon made a rather controversial comment stating “Obviously, there is the smell of marijuana in the air.”
The comment sent social media into a frenzy. Lemon however still doesn’t understand why his comment created such outrage.
TMZ caught up with the reporter and asked him about the criticism he has received since his infamous Mary Jane comment, this is what he had to say, “I don’t get that. I was just talking. There was a million things going on and everyone’s just hanging on one word.”
“I don’t understand why you guys are covering me. I’m just a newscaster,” Lemon told TMZ.
Seemingly unaware of the influence he has on the world, we are sure to hear and see more preposterous moments from Don Lemon.
