NYC rap juggernaut H Warbuckz chops it up with us about his new offering, “The Mixtape Bible”
H Warbuckz has a new mixtape on deck appropriately entitled “The Mixtape Bible” hosted by veteran DJs Superstar Jay & Love Dinero, which boasts of “ill beats and lyrical expertise. Check out the New Yitty wordsmith’s insight on everything from his name to what got him his fame followed up by a stream of the mixtape.
What is the significance of your name?
The H. in my name stands for Holiday which is the name of known by in the streets. Warbuckz is the name that coincides with my persona. I’m a Don.
Who is your target market?
My target base is comprised of those who are street smart, savvy, ambitious and motivated to live a fruitful life. I am trying to reach people who can relate to my journey or are inspired by it, as well as those who enjoy quality Hip hop. I tailor my music for those who listen to and appreciate lyrics. Music is influential; it can either poison or enrich your spirit.
What is the philosophy by which you live by?
My philosophy is simple. It’s the hash-tag on all my quotes and it’s also the title of my 1st Ep. My philosophy is “H life.” H life is a acronym that stands for happiness lies in forward elevation and that pretty much speaks for itself. Most miserable people are standing still watching everybody else move forward.
Which artists have inspired you?
I was inspired by the artists whose music resonated with me coming up. I looked up to the people that made me want to rap. Coming up my inspirations were Nas, Raekwon, Az, G Rap, Scar Face, Pac, Big, Jay, Big L, Rakim and the list goes on. I grew up in the Golden era of Hip Hop. There were so many people to influence you like KRS One , Buckshot, etc
What is your EP going to be like?
I will be taking it back to the essence. It will be a classic Hip hop album with all of the key elements. It will have concepts, stories, love, drama, strong lyrical content, skits and intros. You will hear all the things that good Hip Hop album used to require.
