Vanity Fair Party At The 2011 Tribeca Film Festival

Jay Z premiered his “Made In America” documentary last night, and in case you missed it, we’ve got you covered.

The second annual Made In America music festival was held in Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia this past Labor Day Weekend. This time around, the founder of the Anheuser-Busch sponsored event decided to capture its entire essence on camera.

Jay Z teamed up with Showtime and Image Entertainment to present a 90-minute documentary titled by the name of Hov and co-founder Steve Stoute’s beloved festival. The legendary Ron Howard was enlisted to do the directorial honors.

The film follows a slew of the talented artists on the bill like Jill Scott, Janelle Monae, Skrillex, Odd Future, Pearl Jam, Run DMC, D’Angelo, The Hives, and Rita Ora behind-the-scenes of the event, where they each divulge the personal significance of their attendance as they prep to take the stage before a crowd of thousands. Philadelphia’s Mayor Michael Nutter, backstage crew members, security staff, vendors, and, of course, the fans who’ve made the artists’ careers possible were all captured in action as well.

When asked about the significance of the name Made In America, Hov touches on how, in his eyes, we’ve taken so many strides as a nation in regard to the acceptance and tolerance of diverse cultures, and his vision for the future of the Made In America festival is a direct reflection of that.

I think Made In America could become a place where people of all cultures gather just having fun and being themselves, and everyone being themselves and every other ethnicity or gender, or sexual preference or whatever…everyone’s okay with it.
