Guys, we’re not talking about the pair you wear way too many times to the gym and you’re holding onto so that your mom can wash them the next time you visit home. Girls, we’re not talking about your favorite pair that you like to hide in when you’ve had a rough night. Everyone, meet Flash Giordani and Wanderlei Duzer. Together, they are Grey Sweatpants. In case you were as excited as me when I found a group that captured the familiar comfort we all get in a pair of grey sweatpants and the now accepted steez derived from designer sweatpants, here’s a note from their Soundcloud: THERES FINALLY A RAP GROUP NAMED “GREY SWEATPANTS”
Judging by their Twitter, they’ve been around since at least 2010 but only recently released two videos that gives them a total of three now. The Baltimore duo make Hip-Hop packed with their own sense of humor that fans born after Y2K can relate to more than a lot of the music being pigeonholed as Hip-Hop. A lot of the rhymes are a product of “higher” education and most likely late nights at a local fast food spot. In other words, expect new music from the two of them sooner than later.
Prepare for the new wave by putting on some Grey Sweatpants. Pun intended.
(Random Hip-Hop trivia #4123 that shouldn’t impact your opinion of the music: Wanderlei Duzer is Chuck Inglish’s cousin.)
Bryan Hahn couldn’t have thought of more intricate rapper names than these two. Maybe Overlord Wrestlemania Backflip. This is why he doesn’t rap. He’s on Twitter (@notupstate).
