Over 100 congressional workers walked out of their jobs with their hands up to protest the no indictment decisions by the grand juries in Missouri and NYC

This afternoon, over 100 workers in Congress staged a walkout to protest the killings of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, two unarmed black men that were killed by white police officers who were neither charged with a crime or even arrested.

The mostly African-American staffers walked out as both the Senate and House attempt to pass a $1.1 trillion deficit extension and avoid another government shutdown. They stood on the Congress steps in the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” position that has become popular since the shooting of Brown in Ferguson, MO back in August. See footage of the protest below.
