Denzel Curry has made some serious moves in 2014. After putting out one of the stronger independent releases in recent years in 2013, the Carol City emcee has been touring with Deniro Farrar, causing everything short of riots with his fans, and building up momentum with more videos to establish his name and those around him. The video for one of our favorite tracks on the album, “Zone 3,” is a homecoming, albeit a less than ideal one, for Denzel. It blurs the line between real life, animations, and video games to show how far off the ridiculous may seem. There’s something more to this track than just social injustice and police brutality:
It’s about unity, I want Carol City to unite, I want humans to unite, it doesn’t matter where we’re from as long as everyone stands together. The enemy is not our own, we’re in all in the same struggle.
Look out for 32 Zel/Planet Shrooms from Denzel in 2015. And don’t forget to peep our interview with the Florida emcee.
