Detroit rapper/producer Kevlaar 7, Kevin Cross, lost his life to a blood disorder December 23rd

Detroit rapper/producer Kevin Cross aka Kevlaar 7, passed away this week in his hometown. He was 37 years old.

His work speaks for itself, dropping over a dozen solo projects and appeared on albums from Wu Tang affiliate Bronze Nazareth and Motown’s own Black 7 Productions.

Kevlaar leaves behind two children and a host of family and friends who issued this statement to the public:

The Black Day In July Family are still coming to grips with the loss of our brother Kevlaar. For such a scripted/gifted MC/Righteous Mind, there are literally no describable words. He has touched and inspired the lives of many through his music and his voice on world and community events. Many have expressed their condolences and their interest to be of assistance so we will be accepting donations to help out with the costs for services and to assist with his children.
