Two off duty officers were shot while investigating an alleged robbery in the Bronx last night
Last night Officers Andrew Dossi and Aliro Pellerano were shot while investigating an armed robbery in the Fordham section of the Bronx.
Both officers are currently in stable condition in St. Barnabas Hospital. Earlier today, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton announced that the police are searching for two suspects, following up with video footage that provides a full front view of at least one of the suspects.
Deputy Chief Royster made it very clear that this was not a targeted shooting like the one which occurred in Brooklyn December 20 in which two officers were shot and killed in their patrol car.
When the officers approached the two suspects outside of a Chinese restaurant on 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue near the grocery store where the alleged robbery occurred, one of the suspects fired at the officers. Dossi was hit in the lower back and arm, while Pellerano was shot in the chest and arm.
The suspects fled on foot until they carjacked a white Camaro, which was found abandoned on 188th Street and Park Avenue with a black revolver inside.
The suspects are still at large and there is a $10,000 reward for information leading to their arrest.
