Music Mogul Jay-Z is finding his niche in the ring

With Roc Nation Sports officially entering the world of boxing today with their first boxing card fight featuring Dusty Harrison versus Tommy Rainone, it seems Hov is full steam ahead. It has officially been announced, Super middle weight champion Andre Ward has signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports after a protracted contracted battle with Goossen Promotions.

The champion has only fought twice in the past three years mainly because of his legal battle with Goossen Promotions, but according to chief operating officer of Roc Nation Sports David Itskowitch he sees the fighter an integral part in the success of the company.  According to an ESPN.com David Itskowitch had this to say about the new signee:

“We have signed Andre Ward and it’s something we’re very excited about.””It’s just the beginning for us but it’s a game-changer. He’s one of the best fighters in the world. Everything is coming together for us. On the same day we are having our first event, at Madison Square Garden, we are announcing our first really huge signing.”

It will be interesting to see how Andre will do under Roc Nation Sports, but more importantly if the fighter can still live up to his name after a couple years out of the ring. Time will only tell, but judging by Itskowitch excitement for the new fighter, this move may be the perfect formula in re-igniting the living legend.
