Zimmerman’s out of control, violent behavior lands him on the wrong side of the law for the fourth time since he was acquitted in the murder of slain teen Trayvon Martin.
Acquitted murderer George Zimmerman found himself back behind bars late Friday evening; this time for aggravated assault with a weapon, in conjunction with a domestic violence case.
This is the third allegation of domestic violence against him since 2013. In fact, since his high profile acquittal in the murder of slain teen Trayvon Martin in 2013, Zimmerman has had at least three encounters with Lake Mary, FL police; two of them being for domestic violence, one being for road rage.
Unsurprisingly, all three of the domestic violence allegations against Zimmerman involve Zimmerman’s alleged use of a weapon–in the prior two instances, he is accused of brandishing a gun at his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, and in a later incident, pointing a shotgun at then girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe.
Few details are available regarding Zimmerman’s latest arrest.
Sadly, the likelihood of Zimmerman finally getting what he deserves–jail time–probably won’t stem from this incident, as data from the National Institute of Justice shows that less than half of arrests for domestic violence result in a conviction.
We can still keep our fingers crossed, though.
