A teen from Albany was sentenced to nine years in prison for robbing someone for sneakers
Another story that’s become all too familiar. A teen from Albany has been sentenced to nine years behind bars for robbing another teen for a pair of sneakers. Marquis Dixon, 17, was charged with first-degree robbery for theft. The incident took place last March in which Dixon was facing up to 25 years. According to District Attorney David Saores’ office:
In March, Marquis Dixon 17, of Albany arranged through a posting on the social media site to buy the sneakers. When Dixon met the other 17-year-old, who lived in Coeymans, at a McDonald’s parking lot on South Pearl Street at 9:30 p.m., he displayed what looked like a handgun and fled with the sneakers. The other teen was unharmed.
Soon after, Dixon was arrested by Albany officials and was found guilty last November.
