With time dedicated to regrouping and rebuilding, G.R.L is back with their new single, “Lighthouse” which pays tribute to Simone Battle, their group member who passed away last year.
The song emphasizes paying attention to your loved ones, protecting and caring for them. There is no doubt that the positive message the song carries is supposed to inspire everyone who listens to it. Along with the new single came a new music video, which was tastefully executed. In this video, we see the four remaining members Lauren Bennett, Natasha Slayton, Emmalyn Estrada and Paula Van Oppen surrounded by light bulbs in black and white. As gorgeous as they looked, the main highlight of the video was Simone Battle. Several clips containing some of her happiest moments from her childhood up to her last days with G.R.L were featured in the video. We see her smiling, laughing, dancing and generally having a good time. An touching and uplifting tribute indeed.
G.R.L. is urging fans to visit www.grlgivesanhour.org to learn more about helping those who are hurting to achieve mental wellness.
