A 36 year old man was found stabbed in the torso last night in the country’s largest metropolis

The body of a 36 year old man who was thought to be homeless, was found near Times Square last night. His death appeared to be from stab wounds, police said. As of Wednesday morning, No arrests have been made.

Officers responding to a call placed around 9:30pm, Tuesday night found an unconscious male at 213 W. 40th St. The victim was laying unresponsive on the sidewalk.

An NYPD spokeswoman has said the victim had an altercation with another man in the back of New Star Cafe, located at 552 Seventh ave. The confrontation escalated outside, where the suspect stabbed the man and fled. The victim was able to get a little distance before collapsing onto the ground.

In route to Bellevue Hospital, EMS found two stab wounds the the man’s torso, NYPD says. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the young man is being withheld until his family is notified.

Surveillance was taken from the cafe in hopes investigators would be able to identify and find the killer, officials say.
