John Legend invites all artists to take the leap.
This week John Legend and Axe announced the launch of the White Label Collective in conjunction the release of the brand’s new White Label product line. They launched a competition for all aspiring artists to possibly win a chance to be mentored by the multiple Grammy winning star and perform at SXSW at Axe’s White Label Collective day party. The top five participants will be selected for an opportunity to work one-on-one with John as a mentorship. All you have to do is upload a YouTube video of an original performance to www.axewhitelabel.com.
“I know what it’s like to start out and how intimidating the journey can be. I was turned down by every major record label, including the one I’m with now. I also started playing the piano and singing in the church choir when I was only four, so the road was long for me. I learned that hard work, a few key mentors and – most importantly – the confidence to take action when opportunities arise can propel your life in ways you always dreamed. Now I’m excited to pay it forward,” Legend said in a statement.
