A celebrity bondsman could be Bobby Shmurda’s get-out-of-jail-next-week card

Bobby Shmurda and 12 members of his GS9 crew were arrested in December for several charges, including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and felonious gun and drug charges. His lawyers have been working diligently to get as much of the case thrown out as possible, and at least get him out on bail before he’s due back in court in April. They may be one step closer to that.

According to a Bossip report, Shmurda has called on the services of famed bondsman Ira Judelson, who has bailed out the likes of Ja Rule, Plaxico Burress and others, to post Shmurda’s $2 million bail as early as next week. Judelson tells Bossip, “At the end of the day, I’m their bank. I’m the one who is going to be putting up the money to secure their appearance in court. Bobby is relying on me to put up the $2 million to get him out the door, get him back to his family and get his music career back on track.”

According to Shmurda’s lawyer, Kenneth Montgomery, “We’re hopefully going to post bail for this young man, and move forward, and litigate this case.”

An additional report from Complex points out that Shmurda’s bail package has indeed been posted, but the court will spend 72 hours investigating whether or not the funds used in the package were illicit. There are two scenarios regarding the newly posted bail package. “If approved he is released. If not a hearing would be scheduled to litigate any issues,” says Montgomery.
