In recent years, fans have celebrated the legacy of late great producer J Dilla.

Later this week, folks will celebrate a Dilla Day tribute concert in Jay Dee’s hometown of Detroit.  Thankfully, festivities will shift to a much warmer climate in Miami, FL February 5-8. Just a few days away from launch, Dilla’s Mother, Ma Dukes will host the celebration at various Miami venues like The Stage, Bardot and LMNT.

Pete Rock, Madlib, Talib Kweli, Slum Village, Black Milk, ESTA, and Camp Lo, will appear and performances are confirmed to include: Mobb Deep, Dead Prez, Statik Selektah, Chuck Strangers (Pro Era), Termanology, and Starro.

In addition to concerts, there will be producer panels, BBQs, artist meet and greets, and other Dilla-related events. “Dilla’s music is timeless and lives in all of us,” explains Ma Dukes.

“I expect Miami to become the icon of event holders for the Dilla legacy, and raise the bar for events globally.”

Tickets are available for $80. The price gains access to all Dilla Day weekend events and concerts.
