Google Play and Rolling Stone kicked off Grammy Week at the legendary El Rey theater in Los Angeles.

The show featured performances from The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, and the Samantha Ronson. The star studded event had a full house of entertainment powerhouses, such as French Montana, Travis Scott, Bryan Greenberg, Abbie Cornish, Leona Lewis, Emma Roberts, Garcelle Beauvais, Shaun White, Victoria Justice, Tess Henley, Emily Lazar, Evan Peters, Siham Hashi and Iman Hashi of Faarow, Matt White, Elijah Kelley, Ro James, Nick Loeb, Alexandra Shipp, Karen David, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter of Phantogram, Nick Noonan, Joey Graceffa, Nick Simmons, Sophie Simmons and Luke Christopher.
The Weeknd opened the show with his newest hit “Often,” followed by “House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls” and his “Drunk In Love” cover. The Weeknd also performed all of his classic bangers off of “Trilogy” itself. Accompanied by a live band, the audience was captivated. This got the crowd amped and ready to go for the night’s next act Childish Gambino.
Gambino continued the momentum and kicked things up to next level with his his capricious record “Crawl” produced by Christian Rich. As soon as the beat dropped, the crowd went into an uproar along with Gambino himself as he he went into an audacious spiral while reciting the song’s visceral lyrics.
For the first time ever, Rolling Stone’s vast archives, including features by notable writers such as Hunter S. Thompson, Cameron Crowe and Matt Taibbi, is available for free to everyone on Android and iOS phones and tablets exclusively on mobile through Google Play Newsstand, Google’s news reader app optimized for phones and tablets.
The night ended with Samantha Ronson on the 1′s and 2′s as the crowd winded down to groovy tunes.
