On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, DKNY kicked off New York Fashion Week by showing off their men’s fall collection titled, “Cold Fusion”.

The collection was created to cater to the typical New Yorker as the clothes emphasized function, fashion and flexibility. It focused on a blend of active wear and dapper ensembles, which featured a very neutral color palette. These colors include blues, cobalt green and berry. The styling technique translated to the reality of what is actually happening in men’s fashion today as it pertains to simplicity and comfort being the key to pulling off a great ensemble.

The darker colors mixed the pop of a lighter color also secured the masculine aura of the collection. From men who don’t like a lot of color to men who appreciate color, there was something for everyone in the collection. For specific clothing items, the collection made use of Roll Necks, Stretch pants, Jogger Cuff tailored trousers, tweed blazers, puffers and wool coats. There is no doubt the collection was made to cater to fashionable men who are always on the go, which makes the collection very relevant. The clothes were made for comfort. From the simplistic accessories like the bags down to the graphic socks and leather shoes, each piece proved to be clean, crisp and very versatile. If there was one word I could use to describe the collection, it would be “relevant”.
