“Kingsman: The Secret Service,” starring Colin Firth, Michael Caine, and Samuel L. Jackson, is a movie based on a hit comic book series, “The Secret Service.” 

The film starts off by introducing the secret spy organization known as Kingsman, and how they take on extremely dangerous, top secret missions that help the general population every single day.  The story then follows a young boy named Eggsy (Taron Egerton), whose father was a member of Kingsman, and the struggles he faces every day.  However, one day he meets Harry Hart (Colin Firth), one of the most highly trained and deadly members of Kingsman, and his life is turned upside down when he is then recruited as a trainee to become an official member of this exclusive organization.  His training is soon put to the test as a notorious supervillain known as Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) appears and starts to kidnap very famous and influential people of society.  It is up to Eggsy and the other members of the Kingsman to find out what Valentine’s master plan is in this intense and action packed film.

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” is unlike any spy movie that has ever come out.  It is action packed, intense at times, and actually really funny. The jokes in the movie ranged from smart and clever humor to blatant sex jokes, and to be completely fair, both jokes hit the mark equally as hard.  Similarly, the action and fighting scenes were amazingly done, taking camera angles and action sequences to a whole other level.  There was never a dull moment throughout the movie, and between the amazing acting and the fantastic special effects, this movie hit the nail on the head when it comes down to being a great movie to see.

Lastly, notable mentions have to go out to both Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson.  Firth, known for being the suave and sophisticated actor, did equally as well delivering some of the most memorable jokes of the movie while also maintaining his general level of sophistication.  If that is not a testament to Firth’s incredible knack for acting, then I don’t know what is.  Similarly, Samuel L. Jackson did an amazing job playing his role and the notorious supervillain, Valentine, who was also pretty much the comic relief character of the movie.  Jackson performed extremely well by making his character believable and making him silly while also establishing his character’s credibility as a notorious psychopathic villain. This movie had it all.  “Kingsman: The Secret Service” hits theaters on February 13, 2014.
