Carlos Campos was definitely one to remember out of the bunch with its simplistic but abstract designs.
The staging of the models was grand going straight down the line making each outfit pop in front of the all-white background. There were 20 models standing in a half circle one next to the other looking like a powerful unite of men, all wearing deep navy blue white and some light blue. Silk bombers, graphic silhouettes, pinstripe, plaid and wool tuxedo trousers, double-breasted coats and light blue and white button-ups all came together for a simple yet striking look.
Each model looked very uniformed wearing black Johnston & Murphy lace-ups which went perfect with paired with every outfit. I have to say I really enjoyed the uniformity of each design and how the navy blue looked so powerful yet subtle displayed in-front of the white background. This collection is art in it’s purest form and i’m sure everyone who viewed this collection will agree. Amazing styling by Julie Ragolia, she really knows how to dress a man.
Campos was inspired by Spanish graphic artist and art director Rafafans. In his chosen mediums of collage and photomontage, Rafafans creates dreamlike images with a subtle sense of playfulness and humor, informed by his deep understanding of textural and color interplay.
The collection was presented as a part of New York Men’s Day (NYMD) sponsored by Cadillac at Industria Studios.
