Before Kanye West became “Yeezus”, before he married a Kardashian and became a father, he was an up and coming artist who’s first big break was performing on the Comedy Central cult classic Chappelle’s Show. This performance not only served as Ye’s first-ever television appearance, but also marked the beginning of a fruitful friendship between he and comedian Dave Chappelle. Since this inaugural television performance, ‘Ye continued to perform on subsequent episodes of Chappelle’s Show, appeared in Chappelle’s concert movie Dave Chappelle’s Block Party, and more recently had a surprise performance at Chappelle’s Radio City stand-up show.
It seems the Kanye-Chapelle bromance has remained intact since, according to an Instagram post by Kim Kardashian West‘s account, ‘Ye gave Dave a pair of the coveted adidas Yeezy 750 Boost — from off his own feet.
So, you can add Dave to the list of Kanye’s friends who received a pair of Yeezys, and unless you have $5,000 to buy them from a reseller, it seems that might be the only way to get them these days.
