Director Bryan Singer, has revealed a fan-favorite in the X-Men universe will “appear” (pun intended) in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film. According to a post on Singer’s Instagram account Kodi Smit-McPhee (ParaNorman, Dawn of The Planet of The Apes) will play the blue-furred, teleporting mutant “Nightcrawler” AKA Kurt Wagner.
Smit-McPhee’s casting follows news of Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, and Tye Sheridan joining the cast as “Storm”, “Jean Grey” and “Cyclops” respectively. So, the team is looking pretty strong this time around — and they’ll need all the help they can get against the immortal supervillain, “Apocalypse” played by Oscar Isaac.
The newcomers will join series veterans, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and more when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
