Hot off the heels of a successful event in Miami for Art Basel, The Athletes for Art Renaissance Tour invaded New York City at Manhattan Motorcars Showroom during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Actor, Malik Yoba and the Orlando Magic’s Victor Oladipo hosted a unique, interactive evening with guests last week at the showroom that treated those guests to live paintings, performance arts, culinary artistry and unique mixology.
Former college football player, Chris Nelson live painted vehicles on the premises and the NFL’s Lance Kendricks and Aaron Maybin joined NBA’ers Jeremy Evans and Desmond Mason also lended their talent for the AART event.

AART breaks the myth that you are eithercan athlete or an artist and brings together those areas of influence by showcasing artwork from all athletes in a variety of mediums. Through artistic expression, AART promotes relationship building,
stimulates imaginations, acknowledges different viewpoints and empowers athletes to be global ambassadors for change. “Ever since our inaugural event in Hollywood, California, the AART has created a diverse atmosphere for
athletes and entertainers,” AART founder Jumoke Mendez told The Source.
“Allowing for them to immerse themselves in art like never before. The last event in Miami was outstanding, now bringing this event to New York where the idea was born, I know it will be nothing short of memorable.”
