Michael Costello is the latest new gown designer to bask in the spotlight.
With so much anticipation for this season, he surely did not disappoint. The Fall/Winter 2015 collection matched perfectly with the hip-hop that echoed in the background creating a glamorous seductive atmosphere. Costello mixed Japanese, Parisian and British aesthetics with some sparkle and layers.
Not afraid of revealing too much, a lot of skin was showing in most of the looks. Symmetrical cutouts, mesh, lace and high slits were reoccurring themes in the collection with every gown featuring at least one of them. Black was the primary color used for most of the looks, the only variations consisted of silver sequin and dark grey. Some of the pieces were made out of mostly lace fabric, leaving not much to the imagination. Costello also featured a few men in his show as well, as he made Tuxedo’s for this collection.
The models’ hairstyles were Japanese influenced; consisting of a high bun in the middle and three long ponytails surrounding it. They also had matte red lips and winged eyeliner giving it that luminous geisha appeal.
Costello’s bold alluring designs kept the viewers captivated. We couldn’t predict what would come out next. The Fall/Winter 2015 collection will definitely attract a youthful audience. The natural simplicity yet ultra-sexy couture is unquestionably what makes Costello standout.
