If you love the University of Notre Dame football, then Jack Doyle’s Bar and Restaurant in Manhattan was the place to be last Friday.

Football season may be over, but former Notre Dame standouts, Irv Smith, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Oliver Gibson, Oscar McBride and Bobby Brown were on hand for a meet and greet event that granted player access, autographs and featured a raffle that gave a dream vacation to Puerto Rico to its winner.

In conjunction with Executive Global Tours, all of this was to benefit the Fit 4 Life Foundation and the South County Outreach. Fit 4 Life has been received nationally and endorsed by Aetna and legendary Coach Lou Holtz.

The foundation works to combat childhood obesity while teaching character development using sport as the relational platform. “Philanthropic events and organizations like Fit4Life Youth Foundation are important to Notre Dame Alumni,” Fit 4 Life founder Oscar McBride tells The Source.

“Ultimately because of the impact we have in our communities; not just in the local communities, but in communities around the world.”

Currently working on pediatric obesity, nutrition, hydration and active rest studies with Chapman University, Fit 4 Life works with South County Outreach, which was adopted through the inaugural Lou’s Lads Bread of Life (B.O.L.D.) Food Drive. The initiative was created last spring and has received rave results.

The Notre Dame Fit 4 Life venue at Jock Doyle’s was successful and tied to the university’s three tier mission of faith, family and community. For more information on Fit 4 Life, visit fit4lifeyouth.org
