That moment you live, eat and breathe Hip Hop, born in New York raised in Tennessee move back to New York, randomly move to Arizona for the weather, find yourself back in Tennessee and realize, why isn’t the story of the Nashville Hip Hop scene being told. Usually when you think Tennessee you may think Three Six Mafia, Yo Gotti, Young Buck and HBCU capital.  Zoom in on Nashville, you may think of it as  the Country Music capital. True, yet, being that it is in middle Tennessee it’s definitely a city full of influence from its neighbors. Atlanta, Georgia, Memphis and states like Alabama and Mississippi. Little do some know that it is Music City which means various artists of all genres pass through to perform and get much needed studio time. When it comes to “Southern Hip Hop” it has seemed as if there has subconsciously always been something to prove. “The south’s got something to say, said Andre 3000 back at The Source Awards.” He along with group member Big Boi went on to win Grammy’s on Grammy’s on Grammy’s (repeat multiple times).

It’s seemed as if every major city in the south has had its “moment” with the exception of Nashville. Not to downplay Young Buck’s hungry wordplay or great beat selection and definitely not forgetting to place Starlito‘s cocky brashness and consistent mixtape before and after Cash Money Records as major headway; the thing is where’s more of it and what’s going on in Nashville, Ten-A-Key now.
