Growing up in the city will make or break you. You can either be forgotten or remembered by your fans forever. Brooklyn’s Saga is trying to be one of the greats and he knows what it takes to get there. His upcoming EP, From Out of the Shadows, will be produced by the great Marco Polo. Today, we’re premiering his new single that describes his love/hate relationship with the streets of NYC.
The first verse from Saga deals with his choice to find uplifting messages to spread while fighting for his way to the top of the food chain. Roc Marci paints the picture of his street with enough clarity that you swore you grew up with him. Saga closes it out with gems of wisdom like the ghetto is not a place, it’s a mindset. All of this meshes into the smooth bass line.
Keep up to date with Saga on his website. Expect his EP late March.
Bryan Hahn wishes the city streets were salted more often. He’s on Twitter (@notupstate).
