A lot of rappers put out music to capture the neighborhood that they live in. But they fall short, usually in more than one way. Brooklyn emcee Wati Heru teamed up with producer Kashaka to prevent that from happening to this new EP. The first three songs come straight from the gutters of NYC, from the lyrics to the production. The second half is more of a showcase for Kashaka’s versatility and influences. You can tell that he grew up listening to more than just Hip-Hop. Stream the compact EP below.
