Your prayers have been answered.

McGriddles. The word alone is enough to send your salivary gland into overdrive. Answering the call of millions over the years, McDonald’s is reportedly planning to test out selling McGriddles — as well as other breakfast menu items — on a 24-hour basis in upcoming months.

Janney Capital Markets reported the news in a research note. ”Our industry sources inform us that McDonald’s US plans to test all-day breakfast — breakfast items for sale throughout the 24-hour day — in one domestic market, with the test set to begin within the next month or two,” the firm explained. They went on to explain that the plan would “make sense” as items such as McGriddles and McMuffins rank among the most “craveable” on the fast-food giant’s menu.

The plan may not prove to be a cake walk however (no pun intended). McDonald’s locations have historically ended their breakfast service at 10:30 a.m. at most locations, and according to the breakfast section of McDonald’s website the issue with serving breakfast all day, ”comes down to the sheer size of kitchen grills.” ”They simply don’t have the room for all of our menu options at one time — especially considering we use our grill to prepare many items on our breakfast menu.”  This could mean that additional equipment and resources could be needed to make day-long breakfast service a possibility.

McDonald’s has yet to make an official statement, be sure to check back as information becomes available.
