Brooklyn! You’re going to love ‘Would You Like A Tour’ tonight.

After seeing Drake, Miguel, & Future on tour last night, one thing’s for certain – they have hits for DAYS. It’s something we all know, but you really realize it when you’re in the middle of thousands of fans screaming the words to every single song for hours.

Future opened the show doing a traditional hip-hop set with a DJ on hand. He took us to the club real quick, making sure we were all “turnt up”. The set changed and next up was Miguel, the rockstar. He sang his heart out to every record, with a live band, and a couple dance moves too. After his one outfit change, he came back and killed a personal favorite, “P*ssy is Mine”. He left the crowd with an empowering message, encouraging everyone to follow their dreams and let no one dictate what he/she can or cannot do. 

& then there’s the headliner, DRAKE. Do Right And Kill Everything. Drake walked on to his very clean, simplistic, futuristic set wearing all white ready to treat his fans to a great show. Right out the gate he did about half of ‘Nothing Was The Same’. It was when he finished up the second verse to ‘Come Thru’ that the beautiful and talented Jhene Aiko joined him on stage singing his lyrics, “you deserve rounds tonight”. Rounds, he explained, meaning multiple rounds of sex. The crowd then sang along with Jhene as she started “From Time”. Future also joined Drake on stage to do a couple hits that he didn’t do during his own set clearly showing no animosity between the two (if there ever was any to begin with).

Drizzy joked about always having to be so emotional and decided he wanted to party for his birthday, doing damn near every Drake verse you’ve ever heard in the club. & what he couldn’t fit in to his set, his DJ certainly did while Drake switched shirts from white to black. Drake sounded well rehearsed singing his most recent hit, “Hold On We’re Going Home”, not that you could hear him with the whole stadium singing right back to him. It was love. I’m refraining from commenting on the girl who was brought on stage, whether part of the crew or just a fan, she was not working Drake like he was in fact… Drake. Girl BYE – just hold on, you’re going home.

Nevertheless, between the strobe lights, fireworks, and clouds on stage to the clouds of loud I was surrounded by, I was in awe all over again with Drake’s artistry. He spent a lot of time surfing the crowd and individually calling out fans that came to support, letting everyone know how much he appreciated it. He ended the night with a performance of “Started from the Bottom” showcasing raw footage of him from childhood, ‘Degrassi’ days, ‘So Far Gone’ days, to now.

The one thing I will say is Miguel you owe me a performance of “Quickie” and Drake you owe me one of “Best I Ever Had”. I’m sure you guys are sick of those songs, but I was still secretly hoping…
