Reggaeton superstar Yandel is the subject of a new HBO Latino documentary “Camino al Concierto” which debuts on April 10 before his Yandel: Legacy-De Lider a Leyenda Tour special airs.
Yandel got his start as one half of the duo Wisin Y Yandel, but has since had a successful solo career.
The documentary gives audiences an intimate look into the rapper’s life and career as he prepares for his concert at José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in his native Puerto Rico. His kids, Wisin and brother Gadiel make appearances in the film. Tego Calderon also comments on Yandel’s influence. HBO Latino hosted a special screening of clips from the film on Tuesday evening at Center548 and Yandel participated in a candid Q&A moderated by Alex Sensation. Yandel revealed that he would love to work with Rihanna. That would make for an interesting collaboration! 50 Cent was in attendance and guests quenched their thirst with the rap mogul’s Effen Vodka. Past HBO Latino Concerts special subjects include Carlos Santana (Live it to Believe it, Live From Mexico), Thalia (Viva Tour En Vivo), Romeo Santos (The King Stays King) and Reik (En Vivo Desde El Auditorio Nacional).
Yandel: Legacy-De Lider a Leyenda Tour acquired from Sony Music Latin is a presentation of HBO Latino Concerts, premiering Friday, April 10th at 8PM ET/7CT. The special, Yandel: Camino al Concierto, will air at 7:30PM ET/6:30PM CT leading up to the concert.
