Russell Westbrook explodes for a career-high against the Pacers
Monster…
Right now, that may be the only word to describe the way Russell Westbrook has been playing these past couple weeks and last night wasn’t any different. Now despite getting his 16th technical foul of the season after arguing a foul call called by referee Ed Malloy and possibly facing a 1-game suspension, the OKC guard went off and poured in a career-high 54 points in a loss against the Indiana Pacers last night.
Despite the tough loss, Russell Westbrook managed to put his team on his back and took 43 shots while making 21 of them. Fifteen of the shots he took were 3-pointers and of the 15 he took, he made 5 of them. The All-Star MVP and league MVP candiate scored 22 points in the first quarter while chipping in 20 in the last quarter to keep his team close, but fell short in a 116-104 battle against the Pacers. Now, if the technical foul he received yesterday is not recinded by the NBA today, Westbrook will sit out against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight which is a vital game in terms of playoff seedings.
