Well then…
Heath Ledger was the best “Joker” — let’s just get that out the way first. With the majority of the public’s opinion sharing a similar sentiment, it would seem revisiting that role would be no easy feat. It should come as no surprise though, that the über-talented Jared Leto – who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of a transgender woman with AIDS in Dallas Buyers Club – has been tasked with portraying Batman’s arch-nemesis in the upcoming Suicide Squad film.
After months of teasing, director David Ayer took to Twitter to show the world Leto as The Joker for the 75th anniversary of the classic comic book villain, and well… it wasn’t anything any of us could’ve predicted.

Gone is the purple three-piece suit, long, shaggy green hair, and uhhh.. eyebrows, seen in the villain’s last on-screen incarnation in 2008′s The Dark Knight. Leto’s Joker has short, neon green hair, with tattoos covering his chalky skin and what seems to be silver grills on his teeth; suffice it to say Mr. J looks as manic as ever.
Leto joins Will Smith as “Deadshot”, Margot Robbie as “Harley Quinn”, Common (in a yet-to-be announced role) and more as a collective of supervillains recruited for dangerous, covert missions by the government. The film has commenced production in Toronto and slated for theatrical release on August 5, 2016.
