Mr. Ferguson takes it to the West Indies for his latest track.

A$AP Ferg  has released another reggae-influenced song this week, inspired by his recent trip to Trinidad. Switching up his musical style with “Petit Valley,” the self-proclaimed Trap God harmonizes about a woman he met while in the small community and how he fell so in lust he wants to move to the island to “keep her happy.” The production for his new single samples Bunji Garlin’s popular Soca tune ”Carnival Tabanca.”

“Shout out to all my Trini fam #petitvalley & @bunjigarlin for giving me the honors of blessing the world with the Fergie Flow over “Carnival Tabanca” which is my favorite song right now . Fuck wit me!!! “Instagram

Ferg is not the first rapper to take on a new genre but by taking the experience from his homeland and producing a feel-good dancehall track hopefully he’ll encourage others to get out there and change up their flow a little, too. The A$AP Mob member has released several freestyles over the past few months, & we can expect to hear more from the “Hood Pope” emcee soon as he works with the crew on their upcoming E.P. L.O.R.D.
